Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels is a non-profit organisation that provides nutritious meals, wellness checks, companionship and organises outings for frail, aged, disabled and special needs groups.

Meals on Wheels as a larger organisation began in 1943 and has grown to 155 services across New South Wales caring for their community. They deliver over 4.5 million meals each year across New South Wales and allow people to retain their independence and live the life they choose. They have grown to be more than just a meal service, and the companionship they offer to those most in need is an essential community service.

The Murwillumbah branch of Meals on Wheels is run by volunteers and relies on donations to be able to continue to help people with meals and companionship. In 2019, First National Real Estate Murwillumbah chose Meals on Wheels Murwillumbah as the recipient for their fundraising efforts. For every property Sale, First National Murwillumbah contributed a donation and after 6 months, we were able to present $9,600 to Meals on Wheels Murwillumbah. Sales Agent Adrianna Jenkins became a volunteer and was able to get insight into the good work that Meals on Wheels does for Murwillumbah.
