Tweed Palliative support was founded in 1998 and provides free support to community members living with life limiting illness. The support service provides hospice care, designed to allow people to stay in their home for as long as possible, helping with shopping, transport to appointments and respite for carers.
Wedgetail Retreat is a home-like modern palliative care facility, offering end of life support for clients and their families. Run by volunteers and relying on donations, care at Wedgetail Retreat is free for those who are disadvantaged, and clients who are able to, donate funds to assist with ongoing costs. Despite the service they offer to the community, Wedgetail Retreat receives no Government funding and relies upon the generous support of the community.
