Tweed District Rescue Squad provides primary response rescue services. Comprised of volunteers they attend to a number of emergency situations in the local area, assisting NSW Fire and Rescue, and NSW Ambulance helping those in need.  

The volunteers of the Tweed District Rescue Squad are on call 24 hours a day, they attend to situations such as animal rescue, car accident assistance and rescue from places such as Mt Warning. This can involve use of specialised equipment, requiring extensive training to be able to use.  

Most volunteers of the Tweed District Rescue Squad also work full time in addition to their volunteer duties, they often sacrifice personal and family time to attend to situations that may take hours to resolve.

Funding for the Tweed District Rescue Squad can be limited, and relies on government grants and community fundraising efforts.  First National Murwillumbah selected the Tweed District Rescue Squad as the recipients for our 2019 community fundraising program, donating a portion of every property sale. After 6 months, we were able to present the Tweed District Rescue Squad with $5,600 for them to be able to put towards the upgrade of vital equipment.
